According to reputable journalist Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham is preparing to engage in discussions with Newcastle United regarding a potential transfer of midfielder Sandro Tonali. The club views Tonali as a vital addition to strengthen their midfield options.
At just 26 years old, Tonali has become an integral part of Newcastle United since joining from AC Milan in the summer of 2023, making over 100 appearances for the club. Last season, he showcased his durability and talent by featuring in 53 matches across all competitions and missing only three of Newcastle’s 38 Premier League fixtures.
Romano further indicates that Tonali is positively inclined towards a move to Tottenham. He has dismissed rumors suggesting that the midfielder is leveraging interest from Spurs to facilitate a transfer elsewhere.
While Tonali currently has a contract with Newcastle extending until the end of the 2027/28 season, indications suggest that he could be departing St. James’ Park during this summer transfer window.
