According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Manchester United is actively engaging in discussions to sign Brazilian midfielder Ederson. The 26-year-old has enjoyed a standout season with Atalanta, although he notably missed out on selection for Brazil’s World Cup squad under manager Carlo Ancelotti.
Reports suggest that United and Atalanta have made headway in their negotiations, with discussions also focusing on the terms of a potential five-year contract for Ederson. The club is keen on securing the midfielder to fill the void that will be left by Casemiro, who is expected to exit Old Trafford this summer.
Ederson has approximately a year remaining on his current contract with Atalanta, where he has established himself as a key player since joining from Salernitana in 2022. Over his tenure at the club, he has made 180 appearances across all competitions and has already featured more than 40 times this season alone.
