The Premier League resumes on October 10, with reigning champions Arsenal set to clash with Leeds United.

The Gunners are looking to bounce back after a surprising 3-0 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion in their last match, a defeat that allowed Manchester City to overtake them at the top of the table.

Mikel Arteta will be eager for his team to return to winning ways against Leeds, who have also had an impressive start to the season, remaining unbeaten after five matches.

As Arsenal prepares for their fixture against Leeds, rumors are circulating regarding a potential move to bring an England international defender to strengthen Arteta’s squad.

According to German source Fussball News, as reported by CaughtOffside, Arsenal is contemplating a bid for full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold from Real Madrid.

The 27-year-old joined Los Blancos in 2025 after making over 350 appearances for Liverpool, where he enjoyed a highly successful tenure at his boyhood club.

Since moving to Spain, Alexander-Arnold has featured 40 times for Real Madrid in all competitions, contributing eight assists to the team’s efforts. Despite his talents, he has seen limited selections for the England national team in recent years, but was recently recalled for the current international break by coach Thomas Tuchel.

Reports indicate that Arsenal is prepared to negotiate with Real Madrid, who may accept a fee in the region of £60-70 million for the former Liverpool star.

While Alexander-Arnold’s contract with Real Madrid runs until the end of the 2030/31 season, it seems Arsenal is keen on luring him back to the Premier League in the near future. The Gunners have faced some defensive challenges, especially with right-back Jurrien Timber dealing with recurring injuries since his arrival in north London.
