Yael Averbuch West has received a notable promotion within NJ/NY Gotham FC, ascending to the role of president of soccer operations. Having served as the general manager and head of soccer operations since August 2021, Averbuch West will continue to oversee all sporting initiatives at the club.
Expressing her excitement, Averbuch West stated, “I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue leading our sporting vision at Gotham FC. We are building something truly special, and our focus remains on competing for championships while cultivating an environment where players and staff can perform at their best.”
Since Averbuch West joined Gotham FC’s front office, the club has celebrated significant achievements, including two NWSL Championships in 2023 and 2025. The 2024 regular season marked the team’s most successful campaign, ending with an impressive record of 17 wins, 5 draws, and 4 losses. Additionally, Gotham cemented its place in history by claiming the first-ever Concacaf W Championship Cup trophy in 2024, triumphing over Tigres UANL.
In conjunction with Averbuch West’s promotion, Gotham FC announced Mark Zarthar as the president of business operations. Ryan Dillon, who previously held the position of chief business officer since 2024, will return to Next 3 as chief growth officer.
