Chelsea to Face Spurs, Juventus, and AC Milan During Pre-Season Tour
This summer, Chelsea will embark on a pre-season tour across Australia and Asia, where they will compete against Tottenham Hotspur, Juventus, and AC Milan. Under the guidance of head coach Xabi Alonso, the club will start the Australian leg with matches against Western Sydney Wanderers and Spurs before heading to Asia for encounters with Juventus, AC Milan, and Johor Darul Ta’zim.
As the Premier League season kicks off, Chelsea will visit local rivals Fulham, followed by their first home match against Brighton & Hove Albion. This challenging schedule offers an opportunity for the team to build momentum prior to the competitive fixtures ahead.
In addition to their pre-season matches, Chelsea appears poised to strengthen their squad further. Reports indicate that the club has an interest in signing promising Werder Bremen defender Karim Coulibaly, who has emerged as a coveted prospect in the Bundesliga.
According to TEAMtalk, the 19-year-old centre-back has caught the attention of several top clubs following an impressive breakthrough campaign last season. Chelsea has now entered the race to secure his signature this summer.
Since joining Bremen from Hamburg in 2024, Coulibaly has made 27 Bundesliga appearances, highlighting his potential as a central defender. Chelsea’s strategy since being taken over by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital in 2022 has focused on acquiring talented young players, and it seems the club is committed to maintaining this approach.
The report suggests that Coulibaly’s attributes, specifically his composure and physical strength, have piqued the interest of Chelsea’s scouting team, with his market value currently estimated at around £40 million. He has three years left on his contract with Werder Bremen, but the club may face stiff competition to retain him beyond the current transfer window.
However, Chelsea will not have an easy path. They are competing with heavyweights such as Manchester United and Newcastle United, both of whom are monitoring the defender’s situation. Additionally, Champions League holders Paris Saint-Germain are also believed to be keeping an eye on Coulibaly as the summer transfer window heats up.
