Arsenal looks to recover from recent setback against Leeds United

The Premier League champions, Arsenal, are eager to bounce back from their surprising 3-0 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion as they prepare to face Leeds United on October 10. Under the guidance of Mikel Arteta, Arsenal had begun the season with a perfect record, winning their first four league matches. However, the loss at The Amex Stadium allowed Manchester City to leapfrog them into the top position.

Though Arsenal enters this match as clear favorites, Daniel Farke’s Leeds United has also made a strong start to the new campaign and could present a formidable challenge for the reigning champions.

Meanwhile, in transfer news, Arsenal finds itself in a heated competition for a promising Bundesliga star. Reports indicate that the Gunners are rivaled by none other than their arch-rivals, Tottenham Hotspur, in the race to sign Bayer Leverkusen’s Ibrahim Maza.

According to TEAMtalk, both north London clubs have expressed interest in the 20-year-old, who is capable of playing as an attacking midfielder or as a winger on either flank.

Since joining Bayer Leverkusen from Hertha Berlin in 2025, Maza has made 49 appearances across all competitions, netting six goals and providing nine assists. His standout performances have garnered the attention of both Arsenal and Spurs, who are ramping up efforts to secure his signature.

Maza’s contract with Leverkusen runs until the conclusion of the 2029/30 season, yet the Bundesliga club could soon face a challenge to retain him as next summer’s transfer window approaches.

Interest in the talented forward extends beyond London, with Chelsea, Manchester City, and Aston Villa also reportedly keen on Maza, who has made five appearances this season. His exceptional skill set and versatility make him a coveted asset in the Premier League transfer market.
